Greg Graffin, que se doutorou em Biologia pela Universidade de Cornell com a tese de título sugestivo «Monism, Atheism & The Naturalist World View Perspectives From Evolutionary Biology», talvez seja mais conhecido como o vocalista da banda Bad Religion, uma das mais emblemáticas bandas punk dos Estados Unidos.

Uma banda que durante a primeira guerra do golfo colaborou com Tim Yohanon, Maximum Rock' n' Roll, no álbum de protesto, "New World Order: War #1" com Noam Chomsky, contribuindo duas músicas, Fertile Crescent e Heaven Is Falling.

A condenação da 2ª guerra do Iraque, dita preventiva, da administração Bush e o crescente e assustador papel da religião na política americana inspiraram o mais recente álbum da banda, The Empire Strikes First, com temas muito críticos como o que dá nome ao álbum e «Let them eat war».

Mas o meu favorito é, claro, «Atheist Peace»:
